Covering a 174km road race along some of Australia’s most rugged coastline is no easy task but JAMTV has pulled off another remarkable broadcast of the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race.
The leading sports producer and broadcaster overcame the technical challenges of such a large course with cutting-edge equipment and resources.
“We deployed four helicopters and four motorbike cameras over and above a standard outside broadcast,” JAMTV Head of Production John Murray said. “For the first time, live rider data was broadcast which provided viewers with a better appreciation of the complexities of the sport.”
For the third consecutive year, JAMTV beamed the race live into 61 countries, with the Seven Network again the local broadcaster.
